eLabFTW is an open-source Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) designed to meet the diverse needs of research groups across a wide range of disciplines. eLabFTW provides secure storage and management of scientific data, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and probity of results through advanced features such as qualified timestamping, cryptographic signatures, and comprehensive audit logs. This is complemented by a strong focus on open science and data interoperability via features that promote the generation of structured metadata, a powerful API that enables easy integration with external research tools and repositories such as Dspace, and a file format specifically designed to facilitate ELN interoperability (the .eln file format).
As part of the eLabFTW@FDM-NDS initiative, eLabFTW is available in the Academic Cloud to all universities in Lower Saxony.
In this 90-minute online training session, delivered by Deltablot - the company behind eLabFTW – participants will receive a practical introduction to the ELN. Participants will learn how to navigate the platform, create experiments and manage resources. A key focus will be on team administrators, discussing admin responsibilities and the settings they can configure in the admin panel to organise their team’s workflows.
There will also be time for questions, allowing participants to address specific challenges and discuss best practices.
Whether you are new to eLabFTW or looking to optimise your team’s setup, this training will provide you with the knowledge and tools to make the most of this powerful electronic lab notebook.
The training is ideal for team admins and anyone interested in adopting eLabFTW for their team.
Registration for the event is not necessary, but possible so we can send you materials directly after the event and inform you of any changes.
This event was part of the Data Days Niedersachsen 2026 - Virtual Theme Day. An overview of the entire program can be found here:
