Public transport to MBI
Public transport via S-Bahn (city train) to Adlershof is available from Berlin Central Station (S9) and Berlin Südkreuz (S46). The required ticket category is Berlin AB. From BER airport, the S9 goes directly to Adlershof and requires a Berlin BC ticket. View or download the S-Bahn and subway network here: 
The hotels and the MBI are within walking distance of the S-Bahn station Adlershof. Alternatively, take one of the tram lines (M17, 61, or 63), or one of the bus lines (162, 163, or 164), and exit at the next stop (Walther-Nernst-Str.) for the hotels and the second stop (Magnusstr.) for MBI. You can use the same ticket as for the S-Bahn.
Important note for travelers (as of June 2026):
Due to construction work on a new signaling system in Schöneweide, S-Bahn service between Adlershof and the city center (via Schöneweide/Treptower Park) will be interrupted from June 12 to July 6, 2026. This affects travelers arriving via the S9 from Berlin Central Station or the S46 from Berlin Südkreuz. Expect replacement bus services and altered schedules.
Travelers arriving from BER airport must use the replacement bus S9X to reach Adlershof directly.
Please allow extra travel time on July 3 and check current conditions shortly before departure via the BVG or S-Bahn apps or the journey planner at BVG or S-Bahn Berlin.
Travel by train
You can leave the train at Berlin's largest station (Berlin Central – Berlin Hauptbahnhof) and take the S-Bahn S9 to S Adlershof (Travel time ~30 min). If your train happens to stop at Berlin Südkreuz, you can leave there and take the S-Bahn S46 to S Adlershof (Travel time ~20 min). From Berlin Südkreuz, a TAXI brings you to MBI within less than 20 minutes (~40 €) outside the rush hours between 3.00 pm and 6.00 pm.
Travel by plane
MBI is close to Berlin's international airport (BER – Berlin Brandenburg Airport). Either take the S-Bahn (S9) to S Adlershof or a TAXI (~30 €) to reach MBI.
Travel by car
Exit the Autobahn (highway) A113 at Adlershof/Wegedornstraße and find your way to the MBI. You can most conveniently park your car in the Carl-Scheele-Straße right next to the institute.
