DESCRIPTION:\nLearning Programming with GenAIA workshop for learners with
no previous experience of writing code\, who want/need to begin analysing
data programmatically. The lessons are particularly relevant to learners w
orking in research.By the end of the workshop\, learners will be able to:\
n\nAdopt some practices to build their ability to read and write R program
s\, supported by genAI.\nHighlight some of the ethical concerns around the
development and use of genAI.\nAssess the risk of using the output from g
enerative AI in a coding task.\nSummarise the process through which a larg
e language model is developed and presented to the user.\nIdentify how cho
ices made during development influence the suitability of the resulting mo
del for different tasks.\nRecognise the importance of evaluating the outpu
t of an LLM to the success and integrity of research.\n\nThis interactive\
, hands-on workshop will equip learners with the foundational understandin
g and techniques that they need to develop their own expertise and begin a
pplying programmatic approaches in their research. In the process\, they w
ill learn more about how generative AI tools work and how they can remain
in control of their research and professional development while using them
. The overall goal of the workshop is to empower learners to make informed
decisions about whether\, when\, and how to use GenAI tools in their work
.\nNo prior knowledge or experience of coding is expected. Participants wi
ll be required to use an AI chatbot tool of their preference.\n\nhttps://e
