DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Monika Staab\n\nThis course aims to help lecturers t
 o teach in an international setting successfully. We will discuss how cont
 ent and methods of teaching and learning can be tailored to a diverse targ
 et group in order to use the potential of the diversity of students and te
 achers. We will also question our own (unconscious) beliefs that we as lec
 turers bring into the teaching process and look at diversity-sensitive com
 munication.\nIn addition to theoretical input\, the course includes intera
 ctive activities that encourage participants to reflect on their own teach
 ing and share their own experiences. The aim is to develop a resource- and
  potential-oriented understanding of diversity\, which implies that an app
 ropriate and critical approach to diversity in an international setting ca
 n promote the professional and personal development of students. The works
 hop includes practising elements in communication and interaction with int
 ernational students.\nAt the end of the course\, participants will have de
 veloped an understanding of how to handle diversity appropriately in inter
 national teaching settings and will be able to design effective teaching a
 nd learning processes.\nThe participants will:- explore internationalisati
 on and diversity in academic teaching and learning settings\,- discuss obs
 tacles and benefits of teaching in an international context\,- consider ho
 w teaching can accommodate student diversity\,- practise interaction and c
 ommunication with international students\,- develop ideas and ways of deal
 ing with existing diversity in their own teaching.\nhis course consists of
