The recipient of the FAIR Data and Software Award Lower Saxony 2025 in the Software category will present insights into the published and award-winning software as well as their research.

Abstract:
The increasing availability of sequence data makes functional gene annotation the new central challenge in bioinformatics. The bHLH_annotator combines multiple annotation steps and an extensive collection of reference sequences to efficiently identify and characterize bHLH transcription factors in plant genomes. Owing to the modular design of the pipeline, both the reference sequences and the applied tools used can be flexibly adapted to the specific annotation goals.
